The Department of Statistics of the Wharton School is committed to providing one of the most generous financial packages for its doctoral students of any department in the nation. Currently, all of the students in our department receive financial support through Teaching and Research Assistantships. These Assistantships cover all of the usual tuition and fee expenses, and in addition the Assistantships provide an annual stipend. For the academic year 2007-2008, the stipend will be $20,000 for first year students. The student stipend is regularly increased, and, in all cases, it is supplemented with an additional amount for those students who remain in residence during the summer. For 2007 the summer research stipend for current students will be $5,600.
